A 20-year-old pilot from Lincoln, Nebraska, has died after his plane crashed in Nebraska, according to the Lincoln Police Department.
The pilot, identified as Kyle Johnson, was the youngest person in a group of four people who were in a training flight to New Orleans, the police said in a statement.
Police said Johnson was pronounced dead on the scene.
Johnson was a captain with a military background, the Lincoln Aviation Association said in the statement.
The group of six were training to fly from Omaha to New York, the association said.
The statement said they were flying over a field at about 2:30 a.m. when the crash happened.
