How to be a successful Aviator sports fan
Aviat Husky has been named the UK’s best sport helicopter, beating out competitors from the likes of the Hawk, the Scania and the Sikorsky S.U.V.S. by a landslide.
It is the latest accolade for the aircraft, which has won awards from The Aviation Herald and Sky and will compete in this year’s prestigious British Helicopter Championship in 2019.
The company is also the first to have an S.C.I. in its fleet, having received a licence from the Civil Aviation Authority to operate helicopters from 2017.
Aviat Huskys success at the prestigious BHACC competition comes at a time when British helicopters are becoming increasingly popular, with more than 50% of all aircraft currently in the air in the UK.
The Husky is also proving to be very cost effective for those wanting to fly as it is currently only £2,300 less than a fully equipped Scania S.
S-80 and more than £1,200 cheaper than a Hawker Hunter.
The Hawker’s price tag is a lot more than the £4,600 price tag for the Hawker F-14 Eagle.
In addition, the Husky’s cost of ownership is significantly lower than the Hawke’s £11,800 cost.
In 2018, Aviat was also awarded the BHACA Aviation Excellence Award, a recognition for the company’s continued work in the field of aeronautics.
The latest accolades also saw the company receive an ‘Outstanding Achievement Award’ from the Helicopter Industry Association of Britain (HIBAB).
The award, which recognises a helicopter as a ‘Top Aviation Product’ by the Association of Helicopter Manufacturers, recognises Aviat for its outstanding work in developing and delivering the Aviat Heli.
